Coatings
Glassteel
Glassteel Coatings can be customized to meet specific applications. Whether that application requires maximum wear resistance, superior dielectric strength, excellent corrosion resistance, or beneficial release qualities.
Glassteel Coatings are applied at room temperature and then moved to furnaces where they are cured at extremely high temperatures. The curing process creates both a chemical and physical bond with the underlying substrate and once cooled, yields a very dense and non-porous surface. The chemistry of Glassteel Coating is inorganic, non-reactive and does not degrade or wear.
Glassteel Coatings are used in the flexible packaging, paper manufacturing, medical/pharmaceutical, carbon fiber and prepreg processing industries. Typical applications include corona treatment and surface treatment rolls, sizing rolls, oven rolls, cooling rolls and dip/chemical bath rolls.
Properties / Specs:
Dielectric Strength – 1,000 volts/mil
Hardness – 50 RC Surface Finish – 12-16RA (ground & polished) 4RA (as fired)
Corrosion Resistance – Extremely High
Porosity – <.005% Max Process Temperature – >500f
Release – Very Good (across multiple temperatures)

Topocrom
Topocrom has developed a variety of industrial solutions thanks to the individual adjustability of the surface properties. The basic principle is always the multilayer Topocrom system, generated in a closed reactor. The coatings are very different in their properties (gliding ability, abrasion resistance, grip, guiding of fluids, better ejection, forming characteristics, embossing properties). The different “recipes” and process parameters can be individually developed according to the requirements of the customer and saved digitally for computerized manufacturing. Thus exact reproducibility is ensured.

corrEnamel
corrEnamel is a highly corrosive resistant coating used in chemical bath & dip roller applications. Our corrEnamel coating is designed to withstand harsh cleaning agents without degrading over time and can be finished “over the roll edge” for submersion in wash tank acids or other chemical treatments. corrEnamel coating will also provide a wear resistant and porous free surface that will not breakdown and will significantly outlast metal, ceramic and chrome plated rollers.
Properties / Specs:
Corrosion Resistance – Excellent
Surface Finish – 8 to 16 RA
Corrosion Resistance – Extremely High
Diameters -2″ 1o 24″
Face Length – Up to 140″
Abrasion Resistance – Excellent

medEnamel
medEnamel is an clean organic, hygienic coating that can be used in where cleanliness is critical. Typical uses include conveying and idler rollers used in the production of medical & pharmaceutical roller applications packaging. The medEnamel coating has been designed to resist medical cleaning and chemical solutions while remaining to and will keep finished products residue free. The medEnamel coating is non-reactive and will also retain its non-stick properties throughout its lifetime.
Properties / Specs:
Corrosion Resistance – Excellent
Surface Finish – 8 to 16 RA
Roll Diameters -2″ to 24″
Face Length – Up to 140″
Abrasion Resistance – Excellent

thermEnamel
thermEnamel is a dielectric coating that can be used in heating and cooling roller applications. Our unique thermEnamel coating has been designed to evenly distribute temperature across the coating roll face and can be used in heating applications as high as withstand temperatures up to 500F. Dual shell heating and cooling rollers are not typically required when using the thermEnamel coating. The thermEnamel coating retains its thermal qualities and remains very wear resistance for many years, even under the most hostile environments.
Properties / Specs:
Hardness – 50 RC
Surface Finish – 12-16RA (ground & polished) 4RA (as fired)
Corrosion Resistance – Extremely High
Porosity – <.005% Max Process Temperature – >500f
Release – Very Good (across multiple temperatures)
