Glassteel is applied to many surfaces where corrosion resistance, wear resistance, low friction and good release are important. Unlike chrome or aluminum, Glassteel is inorganic and non-reactive and since Glassteel is fused to the underlying roller substrate, the finished coating is very dense and will not peel or crack, even in the harshest environments or at high temperatures or line speeds. The Glassteel coating can be applied “over the edge” of the roller, helping to protect the roll journals and headers from the corrosive effects of the fountain concentrate. Glassteel coatings can also be ground and polished to your desired surface finish.
